This sand fort is so named the Blue Flip Flop and has withstood many water surges and still stands although it’s a bit bedraggled since the castle builders flew home.

Hopetown

WHAT a lovely spot! The town seems to nestle you to its bosom and you are very much made to feel a part of this town. Hopetown in nestled smack dab in the middle of Elbow Cay with a working lighthouse and St. James Methodist Church that plays 2 songs in chimes at noon and 6:00 p. m. daily. The music rotates so one gets quite the variety. Many sea turtles seem to make their home in the harbor and it's fun to watch them when they come up for air prior to sounding! Naturally they are camera shy and word is that there’s not a camera fast enough to snap their image when they are ‘airing’. Somehow think that that’s more operator slowness rather than the cameras!
